Racecourses
Theatres of great sport, culture and entertainment

In our strategy, Racecourses are conceived as facilities of excellence for racing and equestrian sports, but also as spaces for socialisation and entertainment open to a wide and heterogeneous audience, animated by events and initiatives even on days when races are not scheduled.

We own two racecourses: the Snai San Siro Racecourse in Milan and the Snai Sesana Racecourse in Montecatini Terme, which also include their respective training centres and facilities for horses.

Snai San Siro Racecourse

Opened in 1920, the Snai San Siro Racecourse has been one of the most prestigious horse racing stages in the world for over a century. With its immense botanical park, the Snai San Siro Racecourse is today a unique location where sport, history, architecture, art and nature interact harmoniously.

11 July 2024 marked the completion of a significant redevelopment and renovation work that enriched the facility with a new trotting track, alongside the historic galloping tracks considered among the most selective in the world and the quadrangular obstacle course.

This intervention has also equipped the racecourse with the most modern technologies, including an advanced lighting system, large screen and many services available to the public such as catering, active all year round.

The works also involved the secondary grandstand, renamed Tribuna del Trotto, which after a period of inaccessibility today can accommodate up to 2,000 people, constituting a privileged vantage point for watching trotting races. Here, GAMI the Racecourse Multimedia Archive Gallery, also found a home. It is a free and interactive exhibition space dedicated to horse racing and the history of the Snai Racecourses.

Snai Sesana Racecourse

The Snai Sesana Racecourse for trotting in Montecatini Terme, with its 108 years of history, is one of the main facilities in central Italy. Rooted in the urban and cultural context of the spa town as well as the entire Val di Nievole, thanks to a series of renovations and redevelopment, it guarantees high technical and quality levels to horses, trainers, owners, and the public. The season culminates with the “Gran Premio di Ferragosto,” that fills the grandstands also with fans from outside the region. In the summer months, the races are held at night. With a view to involving an increasingly wide audience, not only horse racing enthusiasts, the racecourse also offers a rich programme of events complementary to the races. It houses the Varenne Museum, dedicated to horses and a playground for children.
