Together for the environment: a shared commitment that unites people and communities

To celebrate World Environment Day, which was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972 and is celebrated every year on June 5th to raise global awareness on the importance of protecting our planet, the people at Snai, Sisal and PokerStars in Italy took part in a significant environmental volunteering initiative in collaboration with Plastic Free Onlus, one of the most active Italian associations in the fight against plastic pollution.
Since its foundation in 2019, Plastic Free has been dedicated to raising awareness and providing environmental education, as well as organising waste collection events to combat the spread of plastic in the environment and promote the protection of ecosystems.

The initiative took the form of a series of waste collection events in the cities where the companies are based. In Milan, volunteers cleaned up Cassinis Park; in Rome, they focused on the green area of Piazza Mancini; and in Porcari (LU), Snai colleagues cleaned the Torretta area.
The project continued with a new volunteer day involving Sisal team in Lecco, continuing the process of caring for and enhancing green spaces.

A total of 200 people took part in the initiative, inspired by the ‘Do More Together’ campaign — a tangible embodiment of the idea that ‘unity is strength’. This activity saw people from the three companies belonging to the Flutter Southern Europe & Africa Region working together for the first time, creating a significant moment of cohesion, team spirit and shared commitment.
The initiative thus achieved two objectives: generating a positive impact on local communities and strengthening the bonds between people from different brands who are united by the same commitment to sustainability.
Moments of active participation such as these provide an ideal opportunity for collaboration and growth.
