Activation of administrative proceedings by the State Monopolies Authority (Amministrazione Autonoma dei Monopoli di Stato) on the concession for the collection of revenues through gaming machines.
Porcari, 4 June 2012 – SNAI S.p.A. (“SNAI”) announces that the State Monopolies Authority (Amministrazione Autonoma dei Monopoli di Stato or “AAMS”) has notified the Company of the activation of two administrative proceedings based upon the results of the technical verifications recently conducted by SOGEI S.p.A. on behalf of AAMS following the episode which occurred on 16 April 2012 (see the press
release dated 18 April 2012).
SNAI points out that the foregoing proceedings will allow for the presentation by SNAI of arguments and observations. After reviewing SNAI’s submissions, AAMS will make a decision only after conducting an “assessment of the interests involved in the proceedings”.
Said proceedings could give rise to (if the relevant legal and contractual conditions are met, and if AAMS reaches a converging conclusion) the issuance of administrative rulings setting forth a block on the use of
the Barcrest gaming platform and/or the revocation of the current concession for the collection of revenues through gaming machines.
Since SNAI is of the view that the factual and legal conditions underlying the above-mentioned proceedings have not been met, it will thoroughly raise all arguments that may be necessary or useful to support its
position and obtain the abandonment of the proceedings in question.
