For the Snaitech Foundation, sport is an important tool for promoting integration and healthy, positive interaction. It is therefore unacceptable that sport is too often the scene of abuse and violence.
In order to combat this phenomenon, the Snaitech Foundation has joined forces with ChangeTheGame and Vero Volley with the common goal of taking concrete action to protect the fundamental values of sport and ensure a safer and more inclusive sporting environment.
This is how the App “ChangeTheGame” was born, the first in Italy dedicated to the prevention of all forms of abuse and violence in sport. With a user-friendly interface and games and information material designed by experienced professionals, the app serves as a useful tool to help young athletes recognise uncomfortable situations and inappropriate behaviour.
The app is a sort of evolution of a path already taken by the Snaitech Foundation in collaboration with ChangeTheGame: in fact, the two entities have already set up a free psychological counselling desk at the Department of Psychology of the Sapienza University of Rome to encourage athletes to turn to professionals for support.
The design of the app also aims to promote a sports culture based on listening and safety; in fact, one of its key features is the HELP button, which allows users to immediately report abuse or violence. For minors, reports are sent directly to parents, while for those over 14, up to five trusted contacts can be selected.
The app is available for free on the Apple Store and Google Play.
